The IUPAC announced Friday that the recently discovered 112th element of the periodic table will be named after the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. It is the second element (Curium) to be named after a son or daughter of Poland. If we can get them to name the next one after former White Sox DH Greg Luzinski the troika of legendary Polacks will be complete.
