It is not depressing at all, it gives way to new ways of thinking. Not be concerned with the puppets who play a political gamer (and live luxuriously from it) but with the real power-bearers in the world, the 1%. @Elle: the POTUS unlike say the Irish office of president has actual power not a moral figure head status. Somewhere between the European monarchs of old and a prime minister. It's a directly elected power position, thus the need to hamstring the Office.

Though you are correct in pointing out the need to put the feet of the House and Senate to the fire as well.
