DRASTIC TIMES CALL FOR COMPLETELY RETARDED SOLUTIONS

In an effort to cover their political ass in preparation for the Great American Festival of Gas Consumption (aka "summer"), the Bush administration is proposing the repeal of clean air regulations in three states - CT, NY, and California.

The clean air regulations, of course, are responsible for those neat "CONTAINS 10% ETHANOL" stickers at the pump, which stipulate that ethanol (a clean-burning fuel derived from corn) must be mixed with the ossified reptile liquid to reduce emissions.

But clearly that concern pales in comparison to the need to reduce the cost of filling the tank of a Ford Expedition in California from $80 down to $73.

This administration is emphatic, strong, and unequivocal: there is NO environmental protection they won't repeal in order to allow America to continue consuming 25% of the world's fossil fuels despite having less than 5% of the world's population.
